Getting Started

Frequent flyer miles are awesome. Learn how to use them and start saving a ton of money on traveling. But they're not always easy to use, and getting started may seem more confusing than its worth. Let's demystify airline miles and figure out how to use them.
When should you Buy Miles as opposed to Airline Tickets There are a lot of opposing views on what the true value of airline miles is; some are stoutly against using miles for tickets as they see no value in it whereas there are some die hard flyers who think these miles are invaluable.
Domestic Travel: The Numbers Game A domestic ticket within the US requires 25,000 miles at the normal assumed value of .02 cents a miles which amounts to $500.00. Most tickets offered by Airlines and Major Travel websites usually can be purchased for a lot cheaper, so the general consensus is that buying miles for travel within the States is not worth it. Having said that, certain city pairs can really save you a lot of money in coach as well as business class.
International Travel: The Numbers Game
International: This is where the magic happens; the general consensus is that buying miles for Business and First Class tickets in the case of international travel will save you around 30-70 percent of the published Airline price.
A Business Class ticket to Europe requires 80,000 miles. The average cost of a mile is 0.02 cents. This amounts to $ 1600-$1700 (depending of course, on the cost of a mile). Now compare this with the published fare of Airlines and other travel sites. The average business class fare to Europe varies from $3500 - $5500. It is evident that in this scenario, buying miles is hugely cheaper.
Asia: A Business Class ticket from New York to Hong Kong costs anywhere between $8000-$10,000. Let’s apply the same calculation as before: The miles required are 145000 with an average cost of 0.02 cents a mile. This gives a cost of $2900-$3000. Again a massive difference.
Booking & Availability
Most Airline Websites let you book online; it’s a very simple process. Go to the website of the Airline you wish to travel with, check for the availability and find out how many miles are required for the trip. Buy these and redeem them for your ticket.
Note: The Mileage is a Marketplace that sells miles only. We do not check availability or book and redeem Award Tickets.
Now do you get the picture? Of course keep in mind you still have to pay the airline taxes. So the long and short of it is that whether you are contemplating buying miles for a Domestic ticket or International ticket, be it for coach , business or first class, check for fares online on sites like Kayak, Expedia, among others and then compare the fares with the cost of the miles you wish to purchase. If the ticket price is cheaper online, buy that. If buying miles is cheaper then go with this option. It’s straightforward.

How It Works

1. Select the mileage program The mileage club offers you a large variety of deals and offers to choose from. So browse our website until you find what you’re looking for. Select your desired airline and enter the amount of miles you want to buy from us.
2. Make the payment After you’ve selected the program that you want, it is time to make the payment. You’ll have the choice to select your mode of payment (PayPal or Wire Transfer). Later, you’ll be asked to enter the details of your selected method of payment.
3. Transfer The last step will involve the transfer of miles into your account after the payment has been completed. This may take up to 48 hours so don’t get worried if you don’t get your miles immediately after the payment.
