How To Be A Smart Traveler And Travel With Free Air Miles

By: Mary Briscoe Categories: Airline Miles

A Smart Traveler
The more you travel to different places, the more you get better at discovering places. Life is not all about staying in your comfort zone only. It is about leaving the comfort zone and exploring different areas of adventure and thrill.

But the question is do you really consider yourself as a smart traveler? If yes, then you must be aware of a lot of things which pro travelers do. But if you are clueless, then here are some interesting things which you should note down in your brain pad (I’m talking about your mind).

Pack Wisely

Pack Wisely
Smart travelers always pack their luggage wisely. According to pro travelers, you shouldn’t fold your clothes and you should always roll them for more space – many say that folding is better than rolling. I personally prefer folding.

Essential Documents

Essential Documents
Always remember, when traveling in foreign countries you need to keep photocopies of essential documents – novice travelers shouldn’t ignore this point, in fact amateur travelers should keep scanned copies of their documents in their smartphones.

Carry More Than One Credit Card

Credit Card
Pro travelers suggest that one should never travel with one credit card only; you should travel with two credit cards so that if one doesn’t work or the link is down, then you have the other one as backup. Plus it is also suggested that you carry cash as well.

Free Air Miles

Free Air Miles
Frequent travelers know the real value of free air miles. When you are a frequent traveler, you tend to travel to several countries and collect free miles. Pro travelers say that free miles not only earn you air perks but you get several benefits on ground as well. You can get access to the VIP lounges present all around the world.

Use The Transport Apps

Transport Apps
Smart travelers either use their miles to book a taxi or they travel with Uber Taxi or use My Taxi app. The app is easily downloadable on all versions. Airport taxis are pretty expensive and taxis outside the airport are also expensive as the drivers can easily figure out you are a tourist.

Book Flight In Advance

Book Flight
Don’t always think that you will get a great deal if you book at the last minute; it’s just a gamble to wait for the last minute tickets. These tickets at times can either be cheap or expensive. So as a traveler myself, I suggest booking in advance is a good idea as you get the ticket at a normal price.

Carry A Fake Wallet

Fake Wallet
Experienced travelers know that there is no country in the world which doesn’t have any pick pockets so it’s best that when you travel in a foreign country, you carry a fake wallet with you. Pro travelers suggest that one should carry a fake wallet with fake credit cards and money so that you can trick the thief from stealing your original wallet.

"The frequent flyer scheme has become as much part of the business traveler's life as a mobile phone or a passport. Indeed, when they were launched twenty-five years ago, air miles promised to be the passport to riches for those flyer loyal and busy enough to earn them."
"For the average traveler, that means buying miles or points in order to reach a threshold for an award ticket. Most airline charge 3 to 5 cents per miles."
"There is a group of traveler junkies so obsessed with racking up frequently flier miles, they scour the internet for deals that take them through little known airports."
